About
Dr. Rajinder Kumar is the founder and Clinical Director of Dimaagi Mind Care and Research Centre in Channi Himmat, Jammu, and a Consultant Psychiatrist with nearly two decades of clinical, academic and leadership experience. He earned his MBBS from Government Medical College, Jammu and his MD in Psychiatry from the Central Institute of Psychiatry (CIP), Ranchi — one of Asia's oldest and most renowned centres for psychiatric education and research.
His training and service span several of India's premier institutions: junior residencies at IHBAS, Delhi and Lady Hardinge Medical College; senior residencies at PGIMS Rohtak and AIIMS, New Delhi — including the National Drug Dependence Treatment Centre (NDDTC) — and ESI-PGIMSR, New Delhi. He has also served on the faculty of the Department of Psychiatry at Government Medical College, Jammu, currently as Assistant Professor.
At Dimaagi he leads confidential, evidence-based care for depression, anxiety, OCD, bipolar disorder, sleep problems and addiction, offered online and in-clinic. His special interests are mood disorders, addiction psychiatry and community outreach, and he is the course director of Dimaagi's supervised psychology internship.
A committed educator and communicator, Dr. Kumar has delivered a TEDx talk on mood disorders, spoken on anxiety, depression and substance abuse, authored a Hindi poetry collection drawn from his memoirs, and in 2026 completed a Faculty Development Programme at NIMHANS, Bengaluru and an advanced workshop on neuromodulation.
